One's To Watch

Nathan Eccleston

Nathan Eccleston is one of the most promising youngsters in the Academy. This pacey striker, who hails from Manchester, has been on the fringes of the first team this season. He joined Huddersfield Town in January 2010, making 12 appearances and scoring 1 goal. Nathan has just joined Charlton Athletic on loan. Eccleston can play up front and on the wing, and looks set to make an impact in the first team next year.

Danny Wilson

When Danny Wilson signed from Rangers in the summer of 2010, he had come off the back of a trophy laden season. The Scottish starlet, who plays at centre back, had been named SFA Young Player of the Year, the Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year and Rangers' Young Player of the Year, before earning himself a move down south. He has made some promising cameo’s this season and looks set to be a big part of Liverpool in the future.

Dani Pacheco

Snapped up from famous Barcelona academy in the summer of 2007, Dani Pacheco is on the edge of the first team. He may not be the biggest man in Melwood, but what he lacks in height, he more than makes up for in skill and trickery. Pacheco has represented Spain at youth levels, and finished top scorer in the 2010 European Youth Championships. Pacheco is a bright prospect, but the question still remains as to whether he can cope with the physicality of the English game.

Jonjo Shelvey
The U19 captain is one of the most promising talents on the LFC books. Bought from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2010 for an initial £1.7m, he has been compared to Steven Gerrard. Shelvey scored eight goals during 49 appearances for the Londoners before heading north. He has also represented England at U16 and U17 level. Shelvey has already made some very promising appearances for Liverpool this term, and is seen to be the future of LFC.

Martin Kelly
A central defender by trade, the 20 year old Scouser has been mainly deployed at right back in the first team this season. After 2 years out with a back injury, and a loan deal at Huddersfield Town, Kelly has firmly established himself in the first team squad. After a man of the match performance against Manchester United in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, his quality is undoubted. An extremely promising talent, he can only get better with age.
